I have been searching high and low for books I can trust to teach my kids about historical characters while maintaining traditional values. I came across Heroes of Liberty some time ago. They produce a series of biographies of historical characters such as Margaret Thatcher, Alexander Hamilton, Ronald Reagan, John Wayne and one of my favorites, Rush Limbaugh.
Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.

The current book my boys are reading is Douglas MacArther – Duty, Honor, Country by Sean B. Dickson.
Instead of just reading the book to them, I created a learning activity. I told them there would be a test on the book’s completion. My oldest jumped into action and it became a group activity where dad read the book while my boys scanned the test and listened for answers. My 8 year old was much more engaged than my 6 year old. He is already asking for more tests and hungry to learn. I believe the 6 year old fell asleep.
