I am transforming my life, and so can you.
My transformation started over 20 years ago. I knew that I wanted to do something different with my life and I had a goal of living and working in Japan. This dream sometimes felt like a mission impossible task and required that I create an opportunity that did not exist in a normal LinkedIn career path. I was living a comfortable life in Michigan, working my 9 to 5 job, collecting a good salary, and doing all the things a good college graduate should be doing. How was I going to get to Japan?
I transformed my life, I moved to Japan, I found a job, I had a successful career, purchased a home, met my loving wife, and had two wonderful boys. Not only did I build my Japan experience but I became a successful international IT professional traveling throughout the Asia Pacific region to China, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and Australia. This opened me up to knowledge and experiences I could never have imagined earlier in my life.
How can I help you?
Did I mention I have two young boys? My life revolves around my family. While I loved my home, career, and life in Japan, I did want my boys to have the same opportunities I did growing up. In the fall of 2019, we decided to sell our home in Japan, pack up and move back to the U.S.A.
How does Cleveland compare to Tokyo, Japan? Well, there has been the need for a huge adjustment for me professionally and personally but my boys love their school, playing sports, hiking outdoors, and watching the occasional deer that walks through our backyard. A close friend to me said, “It is all about your kids and setting them up for success. What you want does not matter.”
I have had some successes in my life. There are things I think I could have done better. I want to continue to improve. But I am just an ordinary guy? I have the same doubts, hangups, fitness, weight, knowledge, motivation, and discipline issues that many of you have.
Why me?
I am not an expert. I am learning. I am trying to improve and build new systems that create discipline and success in my life. My qualifications include 30 years of management experience, information technology, Japanese language, and international experience. But, at the end of the day, the only thing that qualifies me to do this work is my passion for self-improvement. My goal is to improve my life. I can learn a lot from all of you, and I believe we can all learn a lot from each other.
Let’s start a journey together and challenge ourselves to build more knowledge, create new skills, become healthier, and strive toward wisdom and discipline in everything we do.
